Difficult Conversations

Difficult Conversations

DLPA Breakfast Seminar –  Wednesday February 13th 2019

North Sydney, 7am to 8:30am

Come along and join us for a  value packed 90 minutes where we will talk about how to navigate your way around having a difficult conversation. Whether it is bringing up something uncomfortable with a co-worker or direct report, updating someone on a negative outcome of a project or simply asking your boss for more flexibility in your working week, so often we avoid having these conversations. But the reality is, the longer you leave it, the more difficult they become!

Tea, coffee and a light breakfast will be provided. There will be an opportunity for networking before and after the learning session.

What will be covered?

  • Definition of a difficult conversation (and examples)
  • Unpacking why they are so difficult (ie, what we make them mean, especially about ourselves)
  • How to prepare for them
  • How to have them (including location, timings, who should be present and agreement on what happens next)
  • Boundaries – what is ok, what isn’t ok
  • Next steps

Karlie and Laurel will draw on their own experiences, best practice guidelines, and most importantly the valuable examples and concerns from around the breakfast table.
